The exhibition “The Flossenbürg concentration camp 1938-1945”, which is held in the old laundry building, enables the visitors to view what remains in the site some 60 years after the liberation of the camp. Photos, various objects, films, works of art and documents are exhibited, while texts provide information about the history of the camp.

An obstacle which stood in the way of the exhibition creators, along with the site being a forgotten place, was the lack of historical and scientific collections from the time period of the camp’s existence. This obstacle, however, was also an advantage, since the artifacts and information that were to be exhibited, were a result of the most updated academic research. The construction of the computer based prisoners database, the development of the archive and the archeological excavations were all based on the newest and most updated research standards and methods.
