„To stand in the Sun“ by Omer Bukchin

An unknown part of the Jewish Resistance

The four-member Israeli ensemble of the Ohel Theater brings the experienced story of brave young women onto the stage, who were an important part of the Jewish resistance during the Second World War. The couriers tried to maintain contact between different ghettos in Poland, which was occupied by the Germans. Young women were chosen for the task, who were able to pretend to be non-Jewish travellers. At the risk of their lives they transported messages, food and even weapons between the ghettos. It’s the aim of the Israeli theater from Afula, to raise awareness in Germany about that part of Jewish resistance.
