Seifhennersdorf Subcamp

  • Former youth hostel in Seifhennersdorf, 2019 (Flossenbürg Concentration Camp Memorial / Photos: Rainer Viertlböck). The prisoners were forced to convert the youth hostel into an SS military hospital. The hospital was possibly never used.

30 German, Yugoslavian, Polish, Russian, and Czech prisoners.

Forced labor and quarters

Construction of an SS military hospital for the construction division of the Waffen SS in Dresden. The prisoners were quartered in a clubhouse.

Guards

14 guards. The detail leader Wilhelm Hartmann, popular with the prisoners, was suspended for allegedly facilitating escapes and replaced by a young SS storm trooper.

Disbanding of the camp / end of the war

On March 16, 1945, the camp was presumably disbanded. The prisoners marched the 40 kilometer distance to the subcamp Rabstein.
