Your visit to the Flossenbürg Concentration Camp Memorial
For an overview on your first visit to the memorial, we recommend the exhibition "Flossenbürg Concentration Camp 1938-1945" in the former laundry building. Our permanent exhibitions are open daily from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm, admission is free.
The museum café is open from Monday to Friday from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm. At weekends and on public holidays, the café is open from 1.00 pm to 5.00 pm. The café is on summer vacation from August 11 to 22.
Important information for your journey: From June 2 the road through Störnstein will be closed until the end of June. Therefore, direct access via the Autobahn 93 and the “Neustadt a.d. Waldnaab” exit is not possible. Coming from the A93, please take the “Weiden Süd” exit and drive via Theisseil and Floß to Flossenbürg. You can find a sketch of the detour here. Travel via the A6 (Nuremberg-Prague) is not affected by the closure.
Public guided tours (in German language) take place on Saturdays, Sundays and German public holidays at 2.00 pm. Please contact for booking requests for tours in English.
The visit of the archive is only possible after prior registration.
Many inquiries can be answered via e-mail, in most cases a visit to the
archive is not necessary. Therefore, please contact us via an online archival inquiry first.
We look forward to your visit!
